Our conservatory hasn’t got central heating, so it becomes pretty pointless during the winter months, and bunch of stuff just ends up shoved in there, so it’s out of the way- including all my arts and crafts stuff. However today the sun was out and it turns into a warm heaven , so I decided it’s time to sort it out and de-clutter the place, as hopefully plenty more spring days are on their way here and I shall be able to make use of this lovely space. Oh and Easter is here this weekend so it’s always handy for catch up tea and coffee breaks with family and those scrumptious sit-down-properly Easter roasts. Either way I’m now happy to walk in there again!
Oh and I tidied up my bookshelf a little and though you lot might like a sneak peak at my rather random subject collection. There’s a bit of everything- fashion, arts, languages, travel books and a ton of car repair manuals and cookbooks! 😀
Rain free days have been a bit of a rarity recently with the super warm spring days one minute and the horridly freezing sleet the next. So whenever it appears to be fairly dry I religiously take my pup for a long walk around the fields. We’ve been sticking to 3 mile exploring missions, doesn’t seem much but, far enough to get super muddy and enjoy ourselves! Today was one of those more dryer days so we headed out and decided to take some pics 🙂
So I’ve been recently exploring new techniques in the craft world and have come across printing on fabric with an inkjet printer. I must admit though it’s quite addictive! 😀 So my first project is finished- a pair of dachshunds on a pillow. For some reason the character of these puppies really cheered me up so though I’ll turn them into something cute. Bit of faux suede and some stitching and Voila! I have printed out some other dogs and puppies, however I’m currently working on another decorative pillow- this time it’s some kittens though!
Ok so it’s been a while since i posted something, so here’s a quick catch up.
Firstly my trial at the hairdressers went well however I haven’t heard back from them for about 2 weeks and trying to get hold of them is near impossible too. So without sounding like a giver-upper i am once again hitting the job papers and websites in hope that i shall find something.
Our new VW is divine, it does really well on mpg’s and feels so smooth on the not so smooth roads around here. I can not wait to take it for a weekend road trip to Europe in spring or early summer. 🙂 Perhaps France!?…
I have also ditched my red hair dye and opted for a very spring appropriate shade of strawberry blonde. Although all the colour stripping has left it in a bit of a sad state so I’m currently testing the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver intensive twice-weekly conditioner (although I’m using it daily :P) and the Organix Argan Oil after every wash. These products were working a treat till I stupidly couldn’t stay away from my GHD’s to make my blonde hair all curlly-tastic, so now I’m back to square 1 with a strict no GHD policy (except for special occasions)!!!
On the cooking front not much has happened as I’m still trying to get rid of those dreadful holiday induced extra pounds! However I have replaced most of the meat with fish, turning borderline pescaterian! But then again I love fish & seafood so I’m quite enjoying the new menu in our house and so is my other half as he’s training for Tough Mudder and currently favours balanced diet.
First off – had a really nice work out yesterday (probably first proper work out of 2013 and much needed after all them cupcakes and eclairs 😛 ) Our friends invited us to try out their gym. However this is actually more of a health center/ country club. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved it- Not only you get a gym that feels homely and welcoming, there’s also a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and spa facilities. And in my first evening there I already spoke to couple of lovely ladies, one told me about the raving recipe of the month- chicken hot pot with dumplings and the other pointed out how cool my hair is(this reminds me i should do a quick post before it fades! ) he he. Quite liking this country club community vibe! I’ll definitely be going back to Clarice House 🙂 Think my fitness and well-being bug has returned!
Secondly – my PartyLite order arrived last night. I only ordered couple of things as their costly but certainly worth it 🙂 First off the Forbidden Fruits candle with Fig scent- smells divine and comes in a cutest box ever! And the second candle that caught my fancy was the Mulbery Jar with a wood wick which crackles when lit. Can’t wait to try them out….
And finally- it’s my birthday this Sunday, so after the gym I popped over to see my dear parents and they got me the cutest card (very appropriate for the latest baking craze.. ), bunch of yellow roses and a scrummy cake!!! 🙂
